Overview
Imperial Yalta (IY) is a calendar system that designates the founding year of the Yalta Empire as its origin point. Introduced simultaneously with the establishment of the Yalta Empire — the first unified state formed by the convergence of multiple human tribes — it served as the official reckoning of time throughout the empire's existence. Following the collapse of the Yalta Empire, Imperial Yalta fell out of common use and was gradually abandoned across most of the known world. However, certain factions claiming descent from the Yalta Empire continue to employ this system to the present day.
History
Before Imperial Yalta
Prior to the establishment of Imperial Yalta, numerous independent calendar systems were in concurrent use across the known world. Each faction maintained its own method of reckoning time — some counted years by the reigns of ruling dynasties, while others employed entirely distinct systems of their own devising. With no unified standard, the measurement of time varied widely from region to region. Upon the founding of the Yalta Empire, its leaders undertook a sweeping standardization of weights, measures, and calendar systems, establishing Imperial Yalta as the sole official reckoning of time. As a result, historical events predating Imperial Yalta remain difficult to date with precision, as the records of each faction followed their own incompatible standards.
Origin and Development of Imperial Yalta
In the aftermath of the Primordial War, humanity endured prolonged periods of nomadic existence and persistent territorial conflict. Seeking a permanent homeland of their own, the representatives of humanity petitioned the ancient gods, who granted them dominion over a tract of land at the heart of the Central Continent. Upon this land, the Yalta Empire was founded. The Empire was governed under a single imperial bloodline that served as a symbolic and spiritual cornerstone — holding no direct political power, but embodying the unity and legitimacy of the realm. Actual governance was carried out through a feudal order, in which regional lords held authority over their respective domains and administered the land in the Emperor's name. Beyond the Central Continent, human settlements were established across various regions of the world through similar arrangements with the ancient gods — some of which grew into kingdoms in their own right. Yet as the Central Continent stood unrivaled as the dominant stage of human civilization, Imperial Yalta gradually emerged as the primary calendar system across the known world.
