Overview

Altanos was a White Dragon of the continent of Wendigo, an elder figure among his kind and, by the found-family bonds White Dragons form among one another, father to Cirrus, who would later succeed him as leader of the lineage. Dignified and composed for most of his life, he was killed on February 2, AY 183, by Kosmi, the special judicial body of the Krossen Court of Justice, after a personal conflict left him mentally unstable.

Appearance

Altanos was notably heavily bearded, a distinguishing feature among his kind.

Personality

Altanos carried himself with the bearing of a stern count — dignified, formal, and rarely shaken. It was this steadiness that earned him standing among the White Dragons for most of his life.

Life

Altanos defeated the red dragon Igniventus in a personal conflict but was left with a severe wound. In the time that followed, the injury, the blow to his pride, humanity's emboldened posture after the Landgrab, and the passivity of the Primordials on matters concerning humans combined to erode his composure entirely. He grew increasingly unstable and violent, until Kosmi tracked, isolated, and killed him on February 2, AY 183.

Altanos possessed Sky Fall, a power later inherited by Roderick Vance, the Kosmi commander who struck him down.

Relationships

Cirrus — daughter in bond, if not in blood, and successor to his position as leader of the White Dragons following his death.

Igniventus — the red dragon whose conflict with Altanos left him wounded and set his decline in motion.
